Africa falters at the Australian Open
The only two competitors representing Africa in the singles events Australian Open Tennis have been knocked out at the first round. South Africa's Kevin Anderson was defeated three sets to one by the USA's Rajeev Ram, while Tunisia's Malik Jaziri lost five sets to Spain's Tommy Roberdo.
The only remaining African competitor left in this year's Australian Open is Raven Klaasen who ironically plays alongside Jaziri's victor Ram, in the men's double. The two just faced off against New Zealand duo Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak and came out victorious two sets to one.
